Wish I Could See the Plates

When Calcite and Granite are combined together, they form one of the most powerful energies known to mankind. Have you ever stood in awe at the mighty power that seems to flow from some sky scrapers and not others? It is because of the interaction of the Limestone in the cement with the granite in the floors and walls. The older generation of architects knew this, and built accordingly, but the new generation has forgotten everything, and care more about making a quick buck than they do about making a place that is sane for humanity.

Brother O'Whiler sighed and said he imagined I only had a few days with the golden plates, and that he had best not keep me from what I would need to do with them. He got up and went to a safe that was in the wall of the office. After unlocking it, he took out two rocks, a piece of Calcite in its native trapezoidal shape, and a piece of Granite that had been cut to mimic the Calcite's shape and size. He said the rocks are ordinary and cheap, but he had to keep them locked up to discourage vandalism of his business. He said, that they were mine as a gift, and I wouldn't need to return them, since he could make more, but that if I ever found someone who could use them, that I should pass them on, because once I was done with the translation, I would not need them any more. He walked me to my car, mumbling that he wished that the Lord would let him see a set of plates one day. How I wished I could show him, but a commandment is a commandment.
